It has been 5 days since the CMCO started. I did not feel like working,
or even undergoing my practicum. Work from home hit differently because I did
not feel the working vibe. I miss the environment at school. On Monday, 19th
of October 2020, I assigned my pupils with a written task. They had to write it
in their exercise book. I asked them to write about the things that they did at
home during a week of Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).
On Tuesday, 20th of October 2020, my mentor prepared a Google
Form on The King of Kites, it was a very simple quiz for them because it only
required the kids to sequence the sentences. However, it might be hard for some
of the pupils because of their level of proficiency. Some of them barely
understood the sentences and even the instruction.
Wednesday, 21st of October 2020, I decided to take a break
from giving the kids work or any task. My mentor decided to make the first
teaching evaluation on the 22nd of October 2020. I planned
everything carefully since it was my first evaluation. I was so scared, nervous,
anxious, because I afraid that things would not be as I planned. I made a
teaching video, prepared some teaching aids and notes for the pupils. I
literally did not sleep for the whole night because I was too nervous. I also practiced
teaching several time. Even though the observation was just through WhatsApp
Messenger, I was hoping that everything went well.
On Thursday, 22nd of October 2020, I started my day very
early since I did not sleep for the whole night. I took breakfast and relaxed a
bit by watching some YouTube videos. At 09:30 A.M., I sent my teaching video
that I had posted on YouTube for the kids to do a quick revision. I also told
them that we would be having class at 08:30 P.M. until 09:30 P.M.
Alhamdulillah, everything went well that night. The pupils managed to give me
full cooperation even though it was only in WhatsApp group chat. Basically, the
flow of the lesson was, I gave the teaching video in the morning, and I
proceeded with class activity and class exercise in the evening. They needed to
watch another YouTube video in order for them to answer class activity, and they
had to answer a quiz from Quizizz website afterwards.
On Friday, 23rd of October 2020, I did not assign the kids with works because I wanted those who did not finish the previous work to complete it by today. I gave them a gentle reminder to do the works. Those works assigned for them was given to enhance their understanding and knowledge.
