Since I followed the school’s schedule on the online classes, I only
have classes with the kids on every Wednesday. On Monday, 30th of
November 2020, I carefully planned my week as everything was very chaotic and
miserable. I had to submit everything by this week since my supervisor needed
to evaluate and give marks before 7th of December 2020.
On the next day which was Tuesday, 1st of December 2020, I
struggled completing and decorating my blog for it look nicer and cute. I like
everything to be neat and perfect because my principle is I want to make sure,
everyone who reads or even just go through my blog will have a good impression
on it. First impression is always always always important.
On Wednesday, 2nd of December 2020, my mentor sent some
quizzes for the kids to answer. She created the quizzes using wordwall. I
thought that it would be great to introduce the kids with various type of
intereactive e-learning website and applications. It would be easier and fun
for the kids to learn online in the future. This pandemic situation really made
everyone to be creative and think outside of the box.
It was surprisingly the eleventh week of my practicum. I did not know
how to feel about that. It was just another three weeks before my practicum
ends. On Monday, 23rd of November 2020, I decided to settle
everything related to my practicum as soon as possible. So, I thought that it
would be great if I make an online class on Google Meet and ask my supervisor
and my school mentor to evaluate me at once. I planned everything and notified
my school mentor and supervisor regarding that issue.
On Tuesday, 24th of November 2020, I made a quick meeting on
Google Meet with the pupils. It was just a warm up session to introduce them to
Google Meet as some of them did not know how to use the application. In the
meeting, I just had a quick chit chat with my pupils. I asked them about their
life during CMCO and so on. I was very happy that some of them were blessed
with modern technology so that they would not be left behind. I continued my
day with preparing the notes and slides for tomorrow’s online class.
On Wednesday, 25th of November 2020, as usual, I did not sleep for the whole night because I was too scared. I took my breakfast and finalized some documents to be sent to my academic supervisor, Sir Zahrul Baharin and my school mentor, Puan Hasimah Bosri. I was very scared because I thought that the kids would not join the meeting. However, it turned out to be great. I reminded everyone about the meeting again that early morning. At 10:45 A.M., I was prepared with everything and at 11 A.M., I started the meeting and asked everyone to join. The meeting went well. They knew how to behave in my class since I showed a sign whenever they needed to mute or unmute the mic. I was so happy to get compliments from my school mentor, my supervisor, and also, my GPK, Sir Mie. I am going to attach some pictures here as memories.
The next following days, Thursday, 26th of November 2020 and Friday, 27th of November 2020, I continued with my other works such as completing my journal. I also planned things for my involvement at school.
On Monday, 16th of November 2020 and Tuesday, 17th
of November 2020, I was busy planning lesson for the following weeks. It was
already the tenth week of my practicum journey. It seemed very boring actually
since I only got to work from home. The enjoyment and excitement to see the
kids with their cuteness were gone, totally gone. I could not see those cute
faces anymore. However, I still can see and watch they kids on the social
media. They
On Wednesday, 18th of November 2020, I gave a task for the pupils. They were asked to watch a YouTube video, and record a video based on the video that they have watched. Ammar Ruzain was always the first when it came to sending works on the WhatsApp group. It maybe was because his mother is also a teacher in my school so she is always aware with her son’s online works. I think it is very important for the parents to always monitor their children’s work because some of the kids were totally being ignorant and did not take the task as important as they should.
The next following day, Thursday, 19th of November 2020, my
mentor asked me to go to school because there was a short rehearsal and decorations
setup for the ceremony. I came to school at 9 A.M. and started to help them
with decorating the venue. The ceremony are going to be held virtually in
SEKATA’s Computer Lab. There will be only some of the teacher and of course,
Cikgu Alimuddin in the lab later on. We decorated the venue and hung a banner
for the ceremony.
On Friday, 20th of November 2020, it was just another
rehearsal for the ceremony. I had to join because my mentor wanted to use my
laptop as the main camera for Cikgu Ali’s retirement ceremony.
On the day of the main event, Saturday, 21st of November 2020,
I went to school as early as 8:00 A.M. While waiting for everyone to arrive, we
arranged the food for Cikgu Ali and stuff like that. Alhamdulillah, everything
went very well. We could see CIkgu Ali’s happy face. He received many
retirement presents especially from his pupils. However, I did not get the
chance to take pictures with CIkgu Ali.
